Yes. In the UK and most EU countries, any engineer who handles refrigerants, including installing, servicing, or repairing air conditioning systems, must be F-Gas certified. This is a legal requirement to ensure safe handling of fluorinated gases, prevent leaks, and protect the environment.

• Only F-Gas certified engineers can legally install, maintain, or recharge systems.
