We recommend having your air conditioning system serviced once a year. An annual service keeps your system running efficiently, helps maintain your manufacturer's warranty, and reduces the risk of unexpected breakdowns. If your system is used heavily or in a commercial environment, more frequent servicing may be beneficial.

Yes. Any engineer who handles refrigerants as part of a service, including checking levels or identifying leaks, must be F-Gas certified by law. This applies across the UK and most EU countries.

• Using an unqualified engineer could invalidate your warranty and put you in breach of regulations.
• This applies to all systems containing refrigerant, including single-split and multi-split units.
• A certified engineer will also identify any refrigerant leaks and advise on the correct course of action.

All of our air conditioning servicing is carried out by fully F-Gas registered engineers.

Yes, for most systems annual servicing is a condition of the manufacturer's warranty. For Midea systems, the service must be carried out by TJ Shefford. For Bosch systems, any Bosch approved qualified engineer can carry out the service. Keeping up with annual servicing ensures your warranty remains valid and your system stays protected.

Our standard air conditioning service covers all the key checks and cleaning needed to keep your system in good condition:

• Filter cleaning and inspection
• Coil cleaning and inspection
• Refrigerant level check
• Electrical components check
• Drainage system check
• Full system performance test
• Visual inspection of the outdoor unit

Please note the service covers routine maintenance only and does not include repairs or re-gassing.

A one-off air conditioning service with TJ Shefford is priced at £100 including VAT. Discounts are available for customers who join our monthly care plan, which also includes a 5-year outdoor unit strip down and clean as a standard feature. Find out more about our service plan here.

Yes, we offer a monthly care plan that spreads the cost of your annual service over 12 months. The plan covers up to 5 units and includes a full strip down and internal clean of indoor units, coil and condenser cleaning, and a visual inspection of outdoor units. A 5-year outdoor unit strip down and clean is also included as standard. Please note repairs and re-gassing are not included. Learn more about our care plan here.

Yes, our F-Gas registered engineers are experienced in servicing a wide range of air conditioning systems. We specialise in Midea and Bosch systems but are able to service most makes and models for both domestic and commercial properties across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
